Health and Safety Online Prevention Modules

Montgomery College has partnered with Vector Solutions, formerly Safe Colleges, to provide interactive, online learning modules to ensure a safer and more inclusive community at MC.  The College's mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and cultural competency.  The online modules offered:

  • AlcoholEdu for College
    • Educates about alcohol, other drugs, and bystander intervention. Can be completed in about 90 minutes.

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Students
    • Equips learners with the information and skills necessary to create a respectful and welcoming environment for everyone. Can be completed in about 40 minutes.

  • Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention
    • Educates on the knowledge, skills, and tools to help students make healthy, informed decisions about prescription medication.  Can be completed in about 40 minutes.

  • Sexual Assault Prevention for Community College Students
    • As part of Montgomery College’s commitment to creating a safe and respectful learning environment, all students are encouraged to complete the Sexual Assault Prevention for Community College Students online module during April in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). This 65-minute, interactive course provides important information about:
      • Recognizing sexual harassment, relationship abuse, sexual assault, and stalking
      • Supporting friends or classmates who may be experiencing these issues
      • Understanding your rights and the resources available to you
      • Taking action safely and responsibly as a bystander
    • Follow-Up & Incentive:
      30 days after completing the course, you’ll receive a short follow-up survey. Students who complete both the course and the survey will be entered into a prize drawing.

How to Access the Course in Blackboard
Follow the Step-by-Step Instructions to locate and enroll in the course on Blackboard:

  1. Log in to Blackboardnew window 
  2. From the left-hand menu, click Courses

  3. In the upper right corner, click Course Catalog

  4. In the Search Catalog section:
    • Set the first drop-down to Course Name
    • Leave the second drop-down as Contains
    • Type in part or all of the course name: Sexual Assault Prevention
    • Click Go

  5. When the course appears in the results, click the drop-down arrow next to the course title
  6. Click Enroll
  7. Once enrolled, you can launch the course and begin.
