Adult ESOL Schedule of Classes

The Adult ESOL Program provides basic English language instruction to Maryland residents whose native language is not English.

Requirements for Adult ESOL Students:
  • All students must apply in person at the time and location where they want to take classes.
  • You must take an in-person test to be placed in a class. Taking the test is not a guarantee you will be placed in class. You may not get a class if too many people apply.
  • You must live in Maryland to take these classes.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to take these classes.
  • All classes are free except for the Advanced ESOL class. Tuition for the advanced class is  $110.
  • Students with F1 or J1 visa cannot take classes in this program. Contact ESL-Rockville@montgomerycollege.edu, if you have a F1 or J1 visa and want to take ESOL classes.

Spring II 2026 Application Information

  • Choose the location and time when you want to take the class.
  • Go to that location on the date and time listed below. For safety and security reasons, please do not bring children with you.
  • All new students must return for a placement test on another day. We will tell you when to return.
  • Current Students: If you are currently in a Spring ESOL class, you must talk to your teacher about how to apply for Spring II 2026  classes.
  • Spring II 2026 regular ESOL classes are in person only. Classes start in March 2026.
  • There are some online classes (intermediate and advanced levels only) for students interested in workplace ESOL classes.
